3. Project overview
Moonriver (MOVR)
Moonriver is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain deployed on Kusama, positioned as Moonbeam’s companion network and a continuously incentivized canary network. The project supports full EVM implementation and Web3-compatible APIs, and connects to the existing Ethereum network via bridges, enabling developers to deploy Solidity smart contracts and DApp front ends to Moonriver with relatively minor changes. New code in the Moonriver ecosystem is prioritized to run on this network and be validated in a real economic environment before expanding to Moonbeam.
