If you are unable to receive verification codes, you can reset the phone number used for two-factor authentication (2FA).
To protect your account assets, withdrawals and quick transactions will be temporarily suspended for 24 hours after changing your phone number.
Below are the steps to reset your phone number on BitTap:
1. Log in to Your BitTap Account
First, log in to the BitTap platform using your account credentials. Ensure you have access to your account and two-factor authentication (such as Google Authenticator or SMS verification).
2. Go to Account Settings
After logging in, navigate to your Account Settings or Security Settings page. Here, you can manage personal information and security options related to your account.
3. Locate the "Phone Number" Option
In the Security Settings section, find the option to Change Phone Number.
4. Verify Your Identity
To ensure security, the system will require you to verify your identity before changing the phone number. Verification methods typically include one of the following:
- Google Authenticator: Enter the verification code generated by your Google Authenticator.
- Current Phone Number Verification: Enter the verification code sent to your currently linked phone number via SMS.
- Email Verification: Enter the verification code sent to your registered email address.
5. Enter Your New Phone Number
Once identity verification is complete, the system will allow you to enter a new phone number. Make sure to select the correct country code before entering the number.
6. Verify the New Phone Number
BitTap will send a verification code to your new phone number. Enter this code to confirm the new phone number binding.
7. Complete the Change
After entering the correct verification code, your new phone number will be successfully linked to your BitTap account. Moving forward, this new number will be used for SMS verification and other account notifications.
